Being a tough guy, did you get a hard time about scoring a goal from your teammates?

"They were pretty excited for me because it doesn't happen too often, but they let me hear about it. To be honest, I get more excited about fighting than I do about scoring goals."

Who's the toughest guy in the NHL?

"Georges Laraque. He's definitely the strongest guy in the NHL. He's at the top of the food chain. I fought him once and didn't do so great, so I'd like to fight him again."

Most memorable fight?

"It was against Philadelphia when I was playing with the Kings. I think it was my second season. I ended up fighting (Todd) Fedoruk in that game. Then I fought (Chris) McAllister. It was a man's game that night. A good, hard game. Both fights were really good fights. Fedoruk and I went at it pretty hard, and after that me and McAllister squared up and went at it pretty hard. I ended up getting the best of both of them that night."

Do you think you'll make it back to the NHL?

"Obviously, that's my goal. I'm not happy where I am unless I'm playing at the highest level. I'm always working to get back to the NHL. I know what I have to do to get back to the NHL and I think I'm working toward that goal. Hopefully, next year I'll sign with Washington and take over for (Donald) Brashear. Hopefully, I'll have a good camp and can make the team."
Interesting. It'd be good to have Kip back in the NHL.

Nice piece on Kip. Ever since he played in LB I've followed his career. He's a nice guy and I hope he does make it back to the show someday.

They should've asked Kip what it was like banging a former model turned drug addict? That would've made for some good reading. ;)

If brash does retire, i wouldn't mind having Kip back with his former AHL coach in the NHL, who actually brought him up from ECHL to play in the AHL.

Good call.

Damn good fight, but Brennan definitely gets buckled at the end.

He did beat McAllister pretty bad though.

Just for fun here is the other fight in that game Brash-Norton

Ole Kippy definitely exaggerated about getting the best of "both" of them. Looks like Fedoruk had his number pretty good.

Maybe that blow scrambled up his memory of the fight, so really thinks he got the better of him. :p

haha i remember the brashear-norton bout. everybody knew even the commentators that they were goona dance. the linesman stood in betweem them the whole tv timeout and had to remind them to not drop em before the faceoff.

Kip deffinitely started well, but Fedoruk switched up on him and sent him down. i guess he counts black eyes as getting the best of them. after they had served their majors, they panned to the Fridge on the bench and he had a huge shiner on his left eye. it started right below his now infamous cheek bone and went all around. he also started out very strong against Peters that same year, but the end result was the same. Peters came back and put him down twice with strong rights.

in any case, i do hope to see him back in the NHL. i don't really think the Kings gave him a chance after he got suspended for 10 games on a BS technicality rule.
