ANAHEIM, Calif. – The
Mighty Ducks of Anaheim today announced that
Brent Severyn has been named radio color analyst. Severyn will join Steve Carroll in the Mighty Ducks radio broadcast booth for all regular season and playoff games, led by flagship station The Mighty 1090 AM. The Ducks also announced a multi-year extension with Skyview Satellite Networks to serve as the official radio network provider of the Mighty Ducks.
Having worked on both radio and television, the former Mighty Duck brings five years of hockey broadcasting experience with him. He has worked as an analyst with Fox Sports Net in Dallas and the Stars’ radio flagship 1310 AM The Ticket. A native of Vegreville, Alberta, Severyn was a member of the 1997-98 Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, recording 1-3=4 points with 133 penalty minutes (PIM) in 37 games played.

A seven-year NHL veteran, Severyn played 328 games between Quebec, Florida,
New York Islanders, Colorado, Anaheim and Dallas, scoring 10-30=40 points with 825 PIM. In 1999, he won the Stanley Cup with the Stars. Severyn was drafted by Winnipeg in the fifth round (99th overall) of the 1984 NHL Entry Draft.
