Eventually also Martin Brodeur, Tim Thomas, Tomas Vokoun, Mika Kipprussoff are risking to end their career in a lockout season.

There are a lot of other younger guys, lots of them european that could be forgotten after the lockout and remain either in Europe or in the minors.
Half those players were borderline NHLers already and were pretty much done anyways, a few have already retired.

Id like to throw in Boulton, Sullivan, and possibly Gonchar.

Shawn Thornton on the lockout.

Quote:
“I’m worried. Financially I’ve made some pretty good money the last couple of years. So I’m not hurting, but I’m definitely concerned that I don’t have any paychecks coming in at this point,” said Thornton. “For guys like me I have a few years left and I’m kind of caught in the middle and squeezed out on both sides. If this goes on for a year or two then I’m probably done and I have to go back to working for a living.

“That’s fine. I’ve done it before. I worked in a steel factory when I was younger. But on the other side I’d like to play out the last two years of my contract and be a little bit ahead after fighting 400 times over the last 15 years.”

Thornton worked the late shift in an Oshawa-area steel factory from 16-19 years old that has employed his father for 37 years, so he knows what working for a living is all about. He also knows that NHL careers are essentially on borrowed time, and is just hoping a solution over the next month will let him put off the real world for a few more years.

“It’s not the end of the world. I get it,” said Thornton. “But if I could not go back there and play out the last couple of years then that would be ideal.”

He doesn't see a problem in working for a living in the future, so I wonder if he has a problem agreeing on getting less money for playing hockey.

How many workers both within with these 30 organizations and at the concessions are not working because of this?

Ah **** off already. Dont have a job start filling out applications like everyone else. Not going to feel sorry for somebody who gets paid 10k per 40 second fight a couple of body checks thrown in. Players and NHL higher ups need to quit blabbin to the media and get a deal done. There are more than just players getting hurt by this and they get paid less than 50k per year.

I thought for a moment you were talking about Justin Faulk because he is doing just fine in the AHL.

Faulk on Fire
Defenseman Justin Faulk, a member of the NHL's All-Rookie Team last season, recorded two assists on Sunday to give him 10 points (2g, 8a) during an active five-game point streak and five-game assist streak, the second of which is the longest active streak in the AHL. Faulk, who now ranks second in the AHL in overall scoring, two points behind Oklahoma City blueliner Justin Schultz, has now recorded five multi-point outings in just eight games played. Faulk leads the AHL with 11 assists, two more than teammate Marc-Andre Gragnani, who ranks tied for second.
