what would be the players % of money they get for a buy out? isn't it 1/3 or 2/3 their contract value? i.e. if it was 10 mil it'd be 3.3 or 6.6?

Canuck2 predicted Bryz would be a disaster in Philly.
Bryz is a disaster in Philly. Canuck2 is not ruling out the Yotes losing Mike Smith to FA and then signing Bryz off the scrap heap. Canuck2 always brings you hard hitting news. |

Canuck2 would not discount the Coyotes making a play for the return of Briere to the desert.
You heard it here first. |

I don't feel like looking it up so I'll ask -- can't a team use both of its buyouts this summer? That's how I understand it. I'd love to see the Flyers buyout Bryz and steal Bernier from LA via offer sheet.

I looked it up anyway. According to NHL.com, teams are permitted two compliance buyouts to be used during the 2013 and/or 2014 offseasons. Looks like both can be used in the same offseason. Which makes the most sense, given the goal is to help teams get under a much lower salary cap.

There is no doubt in my mind that the Bruins will buy out Rich Peverley as opposed to Chris Kelly after this season. Neither guy has played to the best of his abilities, but Kelly is more valuable to this team in the sense that he can play in every situation, and is considered a valuable veteran leader.
