List of Possible Players Up for Amnesty Buyout if in New CBA

Quote:
Colorado Avalanche: Milan Hejduk
The longtime Av had a career-worst 14 goals and 37 points last season.

Columbus Blue Jackets, James Wisniewski
Five more years remaining on a contract worth US26-million.

Dallas Stars: Jaromir Jagr
Yeah, they signed him last summer. But still … US$4.5-million? Really?
Quote:
Minnesota Wild: Dany Heatley
Now that Zach Parise is on the team, and Mikael Granlund is about to step up, is there a need — or a way — for Minnesota to keep paying Heatley’s US$7.5-million salary?
Quote:
Tampa Bay Lightning: Vincent Lecavalier
It is almost impossible to trade the former 50-goal scorer, whose US$7.7-million cap hit expires in 2020.

Full List

http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...ates-Pt-1.html

http://www.thehockeynews.com/article...ates-Pt-2.html

some guys are 100% agreed upon but proteau brings up a handful of different guys who he thinks should be amnesty canidates.

I would love to see the Penguins unload Paul Martin.

Don't agree on Lecavalier. If the Canadiens would be able to unload Scott Gomez I'm pretty sure they would take Lecavalier and his contract.

Bryzgalov has another melt down with the media. I can't believe Philly signed this head case to that deal.

Quote:
Question: Can you talk about the win tonight?

Bryzgalov: What do you want me to say? You've been writing filth about me and now you are asking for an interview. Go look around; there are so many good players. You can go talk to them. Why me? In reality, my wife, Zhenya, forbade me from giving interviews and so did my parents. If you call them in Togliatti and they give you their permission, then I might do it. Do you think I'm joking? No, I'm not joking in this case. I am telling the truth.

Question: At least share your impressions about the game?

Bryzgalov: What impression are you talking about? I didn't have to work hard. Even my uniform is dry. You can touch it yourself if you want just to make sure.

The list is ****ing terriable, and filled with stupid choices.

I find it hard to believe that if the ducks wanted to get rid of Cogliano they couldn't trade him. Same with Matt Stajan and Calgary.

Why would the bruins buy out Tim Thomas when he's got one year left and most likely going to be traded to a team that needs to get to cap floor.

They want Colorado to buyout one of the best players in team history who only has one year left on his current deal.

They say Nashville should dump Kostitsyn because his brother is an idiot, and Phoenix should get rid of Raffi Torres because he's serial offender.

Seriously who ever wrote this is an idiot, and put no effort into it.

Hard to believe that lazy russian Kovalchoke isn't first in line or right behind Bryz the Fizz.

Cherry picking this one. Does the cap take the same hit if you buy someone's contract out? That could be a reason. I think you seriously overestimate how many teams need to get to the cap floor. I think the Islanders are really the only one; it's not coming up as much as you think.

And how would they trade for him? He said he's not playing. Good luck trading for a goalie that's adamant on sitting out the season!

Even with Vinny's better season last year, that contract of his is TERRIBLE. No one is going to touch it....think A-Rod of hockey

This guy is clueless when it comes to the Kings.

Kings just resigned Jarret Stoll. They could have walked away for nothing.

i think it's more the three-year deal part of the contract which would lead to him being bought out...considering the cap will be going down most likely in '13-14.
