Leafs Not Welcome at Team Restaurant

Real Sports is the popular team-created establishment next to the Air Canada Centre, with a giant television screen on one wall, smaller screens throughout and an exclusive upper deck where Leafs players can typically enjoy a more rarified air during busy periods. The lockout, it would appear, has denied them that access.

... A representative with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment declined comment on behalf of the company, which owns the Leafs, as well as the restaurant.

A ton of fans in the comments who are fed up with the NHL. It seems the lockout has really soured them toward both sides and league as a while. Lets see how many of them put their money where there mouth is.

Although ridiculous, I'm not surprised. It's a team based establishment, guess they're going to do what they feel is best for them (Real Sports). Can't say I agree, but again, at this point, nothing really should surprise anyone regarding the NHL lockout.

I thought the rule was, owners/higher ups can't talk to players during the lockout. Maybe the thinking is, it's possible for players and owners to bump into each other here? Even so, turning away paying customers is idiotic. Gives the restaurant a bad name.

It's not the arena, it's a restaurant near the arena that's owned by the same company that owns the team.

then I take the sentence back. but it's toronto, go somewhere else. I guess it'd be kinda like if a cell phone company owned a team and didn't let their players use their phones
