First of all, the host brought up the fat chick bit and Bam Bam went with it. I see no wrong doing there. Just a lot of light hearted bull ****ting there.

He for sure comes off as a total meat head/jock though. Still seems like a pretty chill dude and glad he is back in the NHL.

Interestingly that was the part nobody was offended by. Odd.

Really? To me he comes across like he was bullied in school or abused as a child. Still like him though.

I hope this blows over quickly and doesn't affect Cam's career in any way, I also hope Cam is actually sorry for his homophobic comment. The good news out of all of this is it's still okay to make fun of fat chicks publicly.

haha he totally is! I got my picture with him a few years ago when he was playing in Lowell. Im probably as far from a meathead/jock as you can get, but he was super cool to me and my girlfriend at the time. One of my favorite players out there

I see where you are coming from, but I think there is a way to be honest without crossing the line. Not saying he crossed a line in my eyes, but he represents (and gets paid by) a league promoting equal rights in their sport and then makes comments that aren't exactly in line with that.

Most sports interviews suck because athletes are limited on what they can say, but certain hosts can get entertaining, honest answers, while still keeping the athletes reputation in mind. These hosts seemed pretty dumb and Cam let loose with them a little too much.

In some cases yes. Although when you talk to players away from the camera or a microphone they certainly open up a lot more about things. You get more of the real story as opposed to the safe choreographed bull**** response.

At the end of the day calling a player gay or a *** isn't uncommon and ultimately it isn't intended to be taken literally. It's a figure of speech. It's like calling someone a ***** or a piece of ****. Nobody is really trying to say someone is a vagina or a pile of feces. This kind of trash talk is nothing new and it isn't going away regardless of how much the NHL or anybody else might want it to.

As per usual things like this just get blown way out of proportion. And all this unnecessary drama has been created out of nothing.

For sure. But he has to know to keep that talk off camera. I can tell my buddies that I want to bone some chick I work with, but if I go say that publicly in front of everyone in the office where my boss is going to hear it, the **** is going to hit the fan. I don't fault Cam for saying it, but he had to know what was going to come of it, whether its fair or not.

Not a big fan of his but I see nothing wrong with the interview, I thought it was entertaining. Anyone offended by that has too much free time on their hands and their priorities all ****ed up.

In general, the media will BLAST athletes, coaches, GMs, etc. you when you "beat around the bush" and don’t provide a definitive answer to their questions and yet, when athletes are honest or provide the correct answer the media will still BLAST them.

Can’t win.

Too lazy to listen to Cam for 15mins but two sure fire ways to rustle some feathers is drop homo stuff. Nothing wrong with apologizing either; gay c-nts are paying customers too. Same ol' tired story. -it happens.

Last edited by NickDoh; 07-14-2012 at 10:30 AM. Reason: changed homophobic to homo, like i said did'nt listen so shouldn't assume.
