As a hockey fight fan, that's about as good as it's going to get. Pretty awesome.
It's no Slapshot as far as being the best hockey movie. The beginning was way too rushed and the side stories are beyond forgettable, hell it's not even a good movie movie. But the fights and main story are awesome. Few gems with the comedy but really not overly funny either. Was basically a movie made for this site. Which is awesome. If I wanted to really nit pick on the fighting, too many TKO/KO's but who gives a ****. It's a hockey fights movie period. Enjoyed it a bunch. 10-11 bucks for ondemand is way stiff though. Yarr. |

I've just seen it. Very good movie, better the I expected. Slap Shot is the best, but this movie it's the best hockey movie of the decade.

The movie was ok, I liked the fight scenes best...Laraque was not "great", he was basically a fat guy with 2 lines.
Shreiber was good if anyone was. The thing that kills me is there is NO FIGHTS of Doug Smith on youtube, yet this movie makes him out to be part cyborg.

Laraque appeared in a couple of Quebec made movies during the last years, I think he'll be good in that movie knowing what his role was in the NHL.
I'm gonna see it at 4pm with a bunch of friends, I hope it's gonna be good. |

It had me rofl when they caricatured Quebec City, saying that Laflamme was a traitor and such. It's sad that they didn't showed the best of St. Johns and of Quebec City though. Those are two beautiful cities.
But the best part when Glatt and Rhea had a conversation in that café and Glatt said "If I have to bleed for my team, I will bleed for my team, it's my job". |

I find it borderline insane that "The Thug" gets as much ink around here as he does.............over roughly a 10 year span he accumulates a total of 234 PIMS in 37 games...........Really? I am not a hater but this is how urban legends get started.....most of his footage is Summer league stuff..............I watched the movie....meh....The guy I saw in the footage on the other fight site would not have stood a chance against Ross Rhea!! I don't know, maybe it's the rainy day that has me in a mood but I just dont get the hype...........

I dunno
Not sure about this one... will have to have a look with all the good feedback here...
but seems to me to be a super "Ignorant-American" look at hockey "the sport with all the fighting" (and that actually knows how to throw a punch, player of Baseball-football-basketball-soccer-autoracing-horseriding-riding motorized things.) have to download it... certainly not going to pay money to see it...
