yeah, and the Hockey News has sold more subscriptions because of violence more than any other hockey publication in North America. Talk about biting the hand that feeds you, LOL. A**holes.

I didn't read it, nor will I because I know it's Ken Campbell and that's all I need to see. The guy is absolute p*ssy who needs to move to Russia to start reporting on the KHL because european hockey is really what he wants the NHL to be. He complains constantly about things like this, somehow ignoring decades of hockey history and the majority of fans. He is an arrogant, geeky snob. He is also a Habs fan. That says it all. He takes any chance he can to bury the Leafs and is absolutely giddy at the way the Habs are playing this year.
I can't say I knew when THN was good but I subscribed for a year and didn't renew. It's a rag with an agenda. Euros are always the best prospects for them and fighting and toughness are evil things lauded by intellectual inferiors. It's the Moneyball effect. Nerds and people with no clue of the game can comment and use stats and analytics to prove points. It's an indication of how far THN has fallen that Ken Campbell is pretty much the only online contributer now. THNs parent company, Transcontinental, is not doing well and is laying off people and I'm sure it'll only be a few years before THN is web only, special editions or gone altogether. Good riddance

Hockey is a culture of violence because that's the way the sport is. It's always been this way, and SHOULD always be this way.
It's not a culture of basketball or soccer ******* who don't and can't be touched without screaming foul. It's a sport for men who are man enough to play a physical, grinding, violent game. If you don't like it, get the **** out of it.
