I agree that Erskine is a potential top 10 guy. but he has developed into a solid defenseman that the caps need. their defense sucks and losing him only makes it worse. hes also had a couple of concussions. he showed last year that hes still a very good fighte but we need him on the backline as much as possible. ill never be pissed off to see him drop the gloves, but id prefer a forward and have erskine as another guy who can fight. they should move him up to forward.

I really hope Rupp & Godard run crazy on Washington next year to see how they react when Erskine who is always rusty has to try and stick up for them. Loseing a d-man in the process.

Right now only Atlanta and Tampa in that division have a HW with Boulton and Walker respectively. Florida, Carolina, and Washington in the division are without one. Maybe if Florida picks up a HW that will change their mind. I don't see Carolina adding one with Puss Maurice coaching them, and Florida has been rumored to be seeking one and was supposedly interested in Orr before he signed with Toronto. If the rest of the division beefs up a little maybe it will force Washington's hand a little.
