I will post what I get when I open the packs... I can't wait... lol... BTW: have not read anything, anywhere (with respect to these cards) that Baumgartner is anywhere in here... Hoping for a Nystrom or Probie card. I think there are 4 boxes left in this blow out special... good luck boys... see you on hte other side ;-)

I was tempted to get some of these when they came out, and the 2 boxes for $100 tipped me over the edge.. they won't ship outside of North America though unfortunatley

If you know anyone in the states, ask if you can ship to them, then pay to have it shipped to you... might cost you a few extra bucks but... you are saving $20 per box... The price tipped me as well... Good luck.

The Terry O'Reilly Instigator was a nice score and Probert/Domi tale of the tape too, but unfortunately it looks like you got a pretty average group of cards.

I was considering getting another box in hopes of a Probert jersey card, but I am VERY weary of getting one online. Its not hard at all to get a bunch of common cards, throw them in the collection (because it is not a sealed container within the box), get the box shrink wrapped, and sell it for $50 - $70.

Very true and a valid point but it can be done at card store as well... as far as the pull... it wasn't looking to score big... this is a novelty set and with the way the card collecting hobby is going (expecially in the states with hockey) I do not see these cards going for huge amounts unless you pull a patch cards or name plate card... I wouldn't mind putting together a tale of the tape/bloody battle set just for my purposes.

Its funny you said that because I was thinking about doing the exact same thing.

It is next to impossible to get a complete set for this series because some of the jersey cards are worth hundreds of dollars. But the TOTT and BB cards are basically commons and can be bought for cheap. They give great analysis of the fights on the back and are a very interesting item for any hockey fight fan.

Wanted to make sure you are aware!!!

I posted a link earlier in this thread and indicated that there are only 4 boxes left in this "blow out" special... So, I check on line and realize that there are only two boxes left so I bought them figuring the boxes were a decent price. Well, the site has another 6 boxes for their "blow out" special... I would imagine that they are constantly putting up 6 at a time... when it runs to zero, up go another six (day or so later).

As far as the shrink wrap mentioned earlier... I checked tbe packaging and saw that it has the ITG logo on it... given that this "shrinks" under heat, it may be harder to scam with shrink wrap sans logo... just my thought process... I still enjoy the cards and at this price... what the hell...

Good luck and happy hunting.

Here is the deal... I thought I was buying the last two boxes of a blow out deal... as mentioned earlier, he seems to put up 6 at a times. When the boxes came, I inspected the shrink wrap while I saw no visable heat seems that were out of the ordinary, I did notice the wrapping seemed a little different on each box.

1st box contained the following:

Miller v. Nilan - tale of the tape.
Ray v Odgers - bloody battles
Probert v. McCarthy - bloody battles
Bill Goldthorpe - Instigator (two colors)
Laus v Ray - Combatants (jersey)
Ed Van Impe - Auto
Zenon Konopka - Auto (and a double)
Jeff Odgers - Auto (and a double)
Shane Churla - Auto (and a double)
Matthew Barnaby - Auto
Vancouver Tough Franchise
San Jose Tough Franchise

Box two contained the following:
St. Louis - Tough Franchise
Chara v Brashear - bloody battles
Domi v McRae - bloody battles
Stan Jonathan - Auto
Rob Ray - Auto
Bill Goldthorpe - Auto
Bob Boughner - Auto
Dave Semenko - Auto
Enrico Ciccone - Instigator
Harold Snepts - Instigator
Richard v Laycue - tale of the tape
Williams v O' Reilly - tale of the tape

I was very happry with the Jonathan, Goldthorpe, and Semenko Auto's adn the Goldthorpe Instigator... I like the tale of the tapes and the bloody battles that I received... So I opened 4 packs = 48 cards and have three doubles. I do plan on getting additional boxes in the future. The only way you can really say a box is wortht the cost is if you pull the name plates, fight strap, or logo cards... Happy hunting... this will be my last post on this... lol... stop clapping and saying thank god... See you on the other side

Yes, I would say it is... I have purchased a total of four boxes... I found another site offer a box for the same price (see both links below). I was happy with my outcome... it becomes the holy grail if you get the fight strap, letters, or logo cards as those appear to be selling for $199 (ebay). I am looking into getting a few more boxes... I would like to put together a tale of the tape and bloody battles set, collect some autogrpaghs and if I luck out an obtain the holy grail of this set so much the better... as with anything... let the buyer beware but I did buy four boxes from this site (first one listed below).

As a service to those of you who wanted to purchase a box... It appears that Blowout cards (link provided previously) couldn't move the boxes (12 were posted at the time) at $59.99.... then $54.99.... and now $49.95... now 6 boxes have moved... Catch you guys later...
