But he wasn't playing in the AHL dumbass....McQuaid wasn't wearing one, so obviously it wasn't required. It wasn't a AHL vs NHL game, it was a "mixed squad" scrimmage.

If you're an AHL scrub, trying to show you belong in the NHL and want to fight (great idea, all for it) take off the shield for a game. It literally takes about 15 seconds.

Lol.... I can see it now...Robbins win cuz he's a Bruin. But McQuaid can't lose because he's a Bruin. So he wins. But Robbins is a Bruin, so he can't lose. But.....

I like McQuaid too. He should be ok so long as he stops driving himself face-first into the boards.
Question, how did he get the nickname Wolf or Wolfie or whatever? I've seen him referred to as that before.

Not sure but I always thought from the 80's action movie starring Steve McQueen called "Lone Wolf McQuade".

"Lone Wolf McQuaid" is a movie from the 80's or something, I think thats how he got the nickname.

Quick fight, Robins showing that he isnt just going to go away. Got the win against McQuaid who seemed overwhelmed. Its been awhile for him, I hope he has better showings in the regular season, still good to see though- If he is cleared to play, he is cleared to fight.

I'm disappointed in myself too.

Gunslinger is 100% right.

It wasn't a mixed-squad scrimmage. It was the Boston Bruins against the Providence Bruins. (And Providence won the game, 7-5. Goes to show what a team that's been playing together all year can do against a bunch of disorganized NHL'ers).

Lane MCDermid is on the Boston Bruins roster per their own website, yet played on the Providence team, so it's not really a ahl v nhl game.

But either way, it doesn't explain why Robbins was wearing a visor. McQuaid wasn't, neither was MCDermid.

My point is, if you want to fight, don't wear a visor.

I'm not debating you on the visor issue, but trust me, I know what the setup of the game was. MacDermid ended last season on Providence, has been playing there all of this year, and is only a hopeful to make the Boston roster.

youre a moron, mcquaid is a major spot picker. he continues to drop the gloves against the raffi torres/matt hendricks/travis moen/etc while he should be fighiting WAY more of the upper categories. theres no problem picking on smaller guys when enforcing but when a guy only fights when the chances are on his side hes a ****ing spot picker. want it or not

Actually a guy like Moen, or even Torres with his size, is exactly the weight class he should be fighting in. McQuaid's never been a HW, although he'll take them on if necessary.
