Yashin not happy with contract offers

Quote:
Alexei Yashin, according to his agent Mark Gandler, is not happy with the contract offers he has received from NHL teams.

''We are still talking to some teams. So far the offers we have received we are not happy with,'' Gandler said in an interview with CKNW Radio in Vancouver. ''If we are not going to get what we are looking for than he (Yashin) will definitely go to Russia.''

''I think that what's making an impression on the teams is the fact that he received this huge buyout. I don't know what else is weighing on them.''

Gandler went on to say that he was looking to get near market value for Yashin and wouldn't take a fraction of market value just because Yashin got a buyout from the New York Islanders.

''I think that what's making an impression on the teams is the fact that he received this huge buyout,'' Gandler told CKNW. '' I don't know what else is weighing on them.

''I'm looking at players who are older and less productive and they are getting significant salaries. He just does not want to be the whipping boy. That's just not going to happen.''

Despite his disappointment with the offers so far, Gandler says there is still interest in Yashin.

What he should do is hold out until he gets what he feels he is worth.

See you in Russia.

I guess he shouldn't have been such a sack of **** his whole career and maybe showed some actual desire to compete once in a while and teams might give him something. Personally him going back to Russia would be a good thing as far as I am concerned.

Unfortunately, there are slim pickings remaining for a top 6 scoring forward. I was expecting Yashins negative and undesirable attitude to show its ugly head!

It´s a cruel world, and Alexei Yashin is yet another victim of mean Hockey Gm´s that doesnt appreciate greedy and misunderstood hockey players.

This is ridiculous...

1.) He should stop whining about the contracts he's getting because he's ALREADY getting paid an extra 1-2 million from the Islanders due to the buyout of his contract! So therefore, he doesn't deserve any more than 2 million per year, because in total he would be making around 4 million a year in that case (from the buyout money) and he doesn't need/deserve more.

2.) And if he DOES want more than that, which he doesn't deserve, then he should learn to get a better attitude and to stop whining. He just needs to play the game. SHOW US that you still have the skills to play, and THEN maybe you will get more money. But after an average year in New York plus the additional money you're getting from the Islanders, you don't deserve a big contract, Yashin. Nobody wants to fall into the big hole that the Islanders did when they paid you that ridiculous money. Start playing well to deserve money. That's the way it works - not the other way around. You have to do something in order to get the money you want.

What a whiney little bitch ... seriously.

"need more"? Maybe he met another supermodel and really does need more money.
