Winnipeg Signs Zach Bogosian to New Deal
The Winnipeg Jets are pleased to announce they have agreed to terms with defenceman Zach Bogosian on a new contract.
Bogosian, 21, appeared in 71 games for the Atlanta Thrashers in 2010-11 collecting 17 points (5g, 12a) and 29 penalty minutes. The Massena, NY native has spent three seasons with the Thrashers totaling 59 points (24g, 35a) and 137 penalty minutes in 199 career NHL games. Bogosian was originally drafted by the Atlanta Thrashers in the first round, third overall in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft. |
Maybe that and the new location will help him live up to his potential.

Yeah, he's had a couple tough, brutal seasons after a promising rookie year. I think he was one of those guys that could have used another year or two in junior or in the minors. But thats a lot of dough for a kid who struggled at -27 last year. For the Jets sake, hopefully he turns a corner this year.

Everybody gets too much these days. But I personally believe he has a moderately bright future.

2 more years to prove himself...

the guy just turned the legal drinking age (in the US)
i think he's got a lot left in the tank |
I believe Bogosian is the type of player Winnipeg can't afford to lose.
