Wild Recall Eric Reitz
SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has recalled defenseman Erik Reitz from the Houston Aeros of the American Hockey League (AHL).
Reitz, 24 (7/29/82), has recorded 16 points (3-13=16) and 80 penalty minutes (PIM) in 36 contests with the Aeros this season. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defenseman ranks first on the team in PIM and tied for second with a +2 rating and has notched one shorthanded goal. The Detroit, Mich.-native appeared in the final five games of the 2005-06 season with Minnesota after being recalled on April 6, 2006. He made his NHL debut at Calgary on April 7 and averaged 13:09 of ice-time and recorded four penalty minutes. The Wild originally selected Reitz in the sixth round (170th overall) of the 2000 NHL Entry Draft. He will wear jersey #6 with Minnesota. |

Completely expected with Foster and Carney going down with injuries. I dont see him lasting past the all star game, but hopefully he can add a little "grit" to the blue line - unlike the women that currently patrol the point.
