Wild Re-Sign Justin Falk to One-Year Contract
Quote:
The Wild blue line retains size and grit today, as Minnesota has agreed to terms with defenseman Justin Falk. After tendering the restricted free agent with a qualifying offer last week, the Wild agreed to terms with him on a one-year, one-way contract.
The 6-foot-5 blueliner has played with the Wild in parts of the previous three seasons, last year skating in a career-most 47 games. He scored his first-career goal on a power play against the Colorado Avalanche on Jan. 24.
Still considered a rookie last season, Falk ranked sixth in ice time and eighth amongst rookies in blocked shots (78).
In 72 NHL games with the Wild, the Snowflake, Manitoba native has compiled 12 points and 60 penalty minutes.
