Wild Activates Koivu; Moore Claimed by Toronto

SAINT PAUL/MINNEAPOLIS, Minn. - Minnesota Wild President and General Manager Doug Risebrough today announced the National Hockey League (NHL) club has activated center Mikko Koivu from injured reserve and that center Dominic Moore has been claimed off waivers by the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Koivu, 24 (3/12/83), has missed the last 24 games since suffering a broken bone in his leg on Nov. 16 in Vancouver. Koivu notched 16 points (5-11=16) and was a plus-5 in 19 games before suffering the injury. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound native of Turku, Finland, has 91 points (31-60=91) in 165 career NHL games - all with Minnesota. Koivu was Minnesota’s first round pick (No. 6 overall) in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft.

Moore, 27 (8/3/80), has posted three points (1-2=3) in 30 games for the Wild this season, and has accumulated 41 points (18-23=41) in 186 career NHL games with the New York Rangers and Wild. Moore was acquired from Pittsburgh for Minnesota’s third-round pick in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft on Feb. 27, 2007.

There is only a few other things that are sweeter than Koivu coming back:

1. Boogaard comes back.
2. Skoula is traded, waived, dies...
3. Nummelin is cast into a river.

Great pickup by Toronto. Corpse, you are 100% right, Moore should be the answer to all of their problems

Damn. We JUST played the Ducks for the one and only time this year. Had this deal come to fruition a few days earlier, Todd Bertuzzi could have ended this STUPID F*CKING EXPERIMENT before it got started.

As if Toronto doesn't have enough under-producing pansies.

Is this JFJ's idea of a big trade. What an assclown, why in the hell would he pick Moore up. He better be sent to the Marlies. If he ends up taking Belak's spot I'm going to be really pissed off.

Well if Belak gets benched and the leafs get blown out....We can always trash the ACC and find JFJ's Car and set it on fire!....Ill bring the torches your bring the pitchforks...also next time maurice benches belak after a fight we can find his car and drop a duce in it...i mean if Toronto starts to riot i think they be fired.
