Great pickup for the Habs.
So, what is it, Moen and Lapierre up there and that's it now? Oh, Georges Laraque... how could I forget him throwing stuff from a press box?

I wonder if they will re-sign punching bag Kostopolous?

A very nice move by MTL. Having Moen, Laraque (if he stays healthy) & Stewart (should make the team) on the forward lines , definately helps out in the grit department for them. For a long while now, MTL has been way too soft.
May not be able to match the Leafs & some others in the "muscle" department, but at least they will not all be pushovers. |

Great move. Instead of getting a douche like Laraque (with a monstrous 2 points) on the team and trying to fit a square in a circle-shaped hole, Gainey actually got a tough guy who mights put the puck in the net every so often. I really hope we trade Big George... as far as I'm concerned, we've got enough tough guys for a team that traditionally relies on speed and playmaking. Worse comes to worst, pull an Alex Auld on him and get a 6th round pick for him, hahaha.

Maybe Kostopolous will be Holland's choice for the Red Wings "enforcer"

Whats sad is at this point, ill take what i can get. The caps will lead the league in fights lost with him and bradley, in about a quarter of the fights as the leader, but at least he drops the gloves sometimes.
Tom Kostopolous- Washington Caps Enforcer...

Yeah, I'm really not trying to knock Kosto either because he's the ultimate team player, standing up for anyone and everyone for all sorts of reasons, even when he himself probably knows he's about to get his clock cleaned again and again.

Nice pick up by the Habs, and another player I don't mind seeing out of the west for the next few years - Moen can bring a lot to any hockey team. I'm just surprised it took so long for a team to snap him up.
