Yeah, if he agrees to knock some sense into Patrick Kane Bettman will reduce it to 15 games.

Torres is a douchebag at times, but all of you wanting him suspended and banned for a longer time are (without realizing it) KILLING-DESTROYING the game from the inside, we wont recognize NHL in 10 years with this idiotic attitude

The thing that is NEVER MENTIONED is that the NHL made the suspension for son long for 1 simple reason

Hossa left on a stretcher and that made for "great TV for the NHL haters", they come out of the woodwork and bash the NHL every chance they get and they go back to *NOT* talking about NHL hockey until the next big hit

End of F)(KING STORY

So his 5 other suspensions for headshots had nothing to do with it? If he had no history or even only one or two prior suspensions he wouldn't have gotten more than 5-7 i don't think. But when you've been suspended 5 times for the exact same thing, you need to be made an example of. with Matt Cooke on his best behavior Torres is far and away the dirtiest players in the league.

Maxim Lapierre and Evgeni Malkin will give him a hell of a run for that crown even Brad Marchand as well

While Lapierre is a little rat, he hasn't done anything over the top dirty like Torres, at least that I've seen. Malkin does get away with murder, I cant forget the blatant late hit elbow/headshot to Simmonds at the end of the game a few years back, that's the dirtiest thing I've seen him do although I don't watch many pens games. Marchand I would say is easily the second dirtiest player, he did have the elbow incident last year(?) or the year before and submarines people a lot, but I wouldn't really put that in the same category as headhunting like Torres, he is more or a rat player like Lapierre.

Malkin is as dirty as any player in the league. He has multiple shoulders/elbows to the head, slew-foots, hits from behind and slashes on his resume. They all get overlooked because he's Evgeni Malkin. Don't get me wrong, I love Geno as a player, but I won't overlook how dirty he can be. Having said that, I still think Torres is a dirtier player, no different than pre-neutered Matt Cooke. I still don't believe that hit was worth 25 games and I never will. I could have lived with 8-10 because of his prior history.

Your missing the bigger point and emphasis

The media -- PTI, Around the Horn, ESPN and other highlightes ONLY lead with a hockey story if there is violence involved (ok maybe not all the time, but most time)

The fact that Hossa left on a stretcher? Cmon -- you dont think that weighed on the NHL front office? Are u kidding me? The PR and image nightmare along with a rough early NHL playoffs season

Again part of my complaint is that EVERY time we see a big hit, we hear Shanahans name and thats NOT a good thing - we dont want headhunters but now its incidental/head down hits that are getting suspensions, i dont want to hear Shana-azzes name on every hit, im tired of it

I would LOVE to see Shanahan's face when he meets with Torres and says:

"You little sh1tbag, I am doubling the suspension to 50 games just because you had the nerve to appeal the first suspension. Get the fock out of my office!"

I find it appalling that he is even allowed to appeal it, or in any sport. If you do something wrong while playing and it's pretty focking obvious, take your punishment and shut the fock up.

These whiny athletes make me sick. Ron Artest? OMG

I hate all of the inconsistency as much as anyone but Torres is a 5 time loser, it wouldn't bother me if they just threw him out of the league completely. Fock him and anyone who plays like him.

At the end of the day though, I hate where this is going, the NHL will be the NPL before too long and if you need help figuring out what the P stands for......

I find it fairly disrespectful that Torres would want to appeal this.
