Thrashers Sign Mike Hoffman
The Atlanta Thrashers have signed unrestricted free agent forward Mike Hoffman, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell.
Hoffman, 27, recorded eight points (five goals, three assists) and 81 penalty minutes in 38 games last season with the AHL’s Portland Pirates. He added two points (one goal, one assist) in 11 Calder Cup Playoff games. The 6-5, 240-pound right wing missed a significant amount of games due to injury. The native of Scituate, Mass. has tallied 45 points (18 goals, 27 assists) in 221 career AHL games with Portland, Manchester, Toronto, Cleveland and Worcester. He added nine points (two goals, seven assists) in 25 ECHL games with the Peoria Riverman in 2003-04. Prior to his professional career, Hoffman appeared in 31 games with the University of Connecticut from 2002-04, recording 10 points (two goals, eight assists). He was originally signed as a free agent by the Maple Leafs on Aug. 12, 2005. Last edited by Thrillhouse; 07-09-2008 at 03:26 PM. |

Boultons a joke. Total waste of a ice skates. If youre not gonna be an enforcer, then at least TRY to score some goals.

Ducks will need a solid AHL enforcer for their new Iowa team. Who is available?

I was really hoping Chicago would get a elite fighter then season. All of there games are televised and with them never dressing Desbiens it was boring last season minus a few Valabik and Deveaux scraps and there not even very entertaining. Plus in the weak division hopefully he can take nights off from enforcing and work on his game a little more. Maybe earn a shot with a NHL team.
And don't blame Boulton for not fighting. It's pretty clear he has a no-fight clause in his contract. He needs the ok to fight. Chicago hasn't had a honest enforcer(I like Desbiens but he's a b'tier fighter) since Lessard. |
