Thrashers Reassign Braydon Coburn to Chicago
Atlanta, GA -- The Atlanta Thrashers have reassigned defenseman Braydon Coburn to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The Thrashers active roster now stands at 22, including 13 forwards, seven defensemen and two goaltenders, with one player on Injured Reserve.
Coburn, the club's first-round draft pick, eighth overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, has recorded four assists and 30 penalty minutes in 29 games with the Thrashers since being recalled on Nov. 15.
The native of Calgary, Alberta, has registered five assists and 34 penalty minutes in 38 NHL games with Atlanta.
Prior to turning pro in 2005-06, the 6-5, 220-pound defenseman spent four seasons with the Portland Winter Hawks of the Western Hockey League, serving as the team captain from 2003-05. He recorded 130 points (29 goals, 101 assists) and 483 penalty minutes in 238 games with Portland.
