The Atlanta Thrashers have assigned Jim Slater to the Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League for conditioning, according to Executive Vice President, General Manager and Head Coach Don Waddell.
Slater, 25, has missed the last nine games, dating back to Dec. 29, with a lower-body injury. In 38 games with the Thrashers this season, he has recorded five assists and 25 penalty minutes. The 6-0, 195-pound center has registered 44 points (15 goals, 29 assists) in 183 NHL games with the Thrashers since his rookie season of 2005-06. The Petoskey, Mich. native was selected by the Thrashers in the first round, 30th overall, in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft.
