The
Atlanta Thrashers have assigned forwards
Joey Crabb,
Andre Deveaux, Colton Fretter, Mike Hamilton,
Chad Painchaud,
Tomas Pospisil,
Jesse Schultz and
Myles Stoesz, and defensemen
Chad Denny,
Brian Fahey, and
Scott Lehman to the
Chicago Wolves of the American Hockey League, according to Executive Vice President and General Manager Don Waddell. The Thrashers also assigned forwards
Riley Holzapfel (Moose Jaw) and
Spencer Machacek (Vancouver) to their respective Western Hockey League teams. Atlanta now has 37 active players on its training camp roster, including 20 forwards, 12 defensemen and five goaltenders. Center
Steve Rucchin remains on injured reserve.
The Thrashers are currently 2-0-0 this preseason after defeating the
St. Louis Blues 3-1 on Sunday night and the
New York Islanders 4-3 in overtime on Monday night in North Bay, Ontario. Atlanta will travel to Nashville on Thursday for a 7 p.m. contest and make their pre-season debut at Philips Arena on Saturday, Sept. 22 vs. the Blues at 7 p.m.
