Well Atlanta now has a decent blueline to build off of, especially if Kubina resigns. Sopel is a pretty good shot blocker and they have enough offensive D men to move the puck.
Enstrom Bogosian Kubina Hainsey/Sopel Oduya Valabik thats pretty impressive actually.

This had better mean trading draft picks for something worth it.... or my Very short period of not hating what the Bowmans are doing is OVER.

Well Atlanta is looking like a big physical team all of the sudden. I guess If I'm Boulton I don't expect to be back.
I think the fact that Atlanta is getting more names gives the illusion that they did well in this trade, but when you break it down it's not even close. I've tried to warn people how bad Rick Dudley will be for ATL, this should be proof. That said, it'll make it more fun to watch the Lightning play Atlanta this season. |

Apparently league personnel are traveling to LA right now and haven't landed, thus the official trade call can't be made, according to Bob McKenzie.

This is a horrendous trade for Atlanta, and a great trade for the Canucks.
Atlanta's prepping their playoff roster about 5 yr's before they make it to the playoffs. Byf stat line for 2011: 21 goals, 11 assists 32 points and a -37. But he will turn it on in the playoffs big time! |

Well fuk, I knew Buff was gone anyway and dig the first-round pick and second-round pick, I don't know crap about Jeremy Morin and Marty Reasoner is worthless. I hoped the Blackhawks front office could do better since Buff was huge in the playoffs for them.

Regardless of what Atlanta gave up this improves their team dramatically and adds toughness, Chicago did a good job of shedding cap and getting picks/prospects in return. Plus Atlanta is adding alot of color to their team.
