The agent for Ottawa Senators goalie Ray Emery confirmed Thursday that he has had talks with two teams willing to make the his client an offer as a restricted free agent.

The Boston Bruins, St. Louis Blues and Los Angeles Kings are believed to be among the teams looking for goaltending help and may have held discussions about the 24-year-old Emery.

Ottawa's not gonna let him go that easy. He's restricted. But a team like the Kings could potentially make an insane offer that is hard for the Sens to match.

Ray Emery is going to need a hell of a team in front of him in order to win a Stanley Cup. He's a bottom of the barrel goaltender who has had the benefit of the Senators defense for the last few seasons.

He would have more than Chara anyways.

Byron Dafoe had two fights as a Bruin, while Chara remains at zero.

He will not sign anywhere but Ottawa. You heard it here first.

I certainly would not call him a "bottom of the barrel" goaltender. The guy is 24 years old and just making his mark as a starter. This was the first year he played as no 1 goalie and he went to the final after outplaying Brodeur and Miller. You can credit the team in front all you want, but Ray put up some great performances.

Don't forget, in '02 he won the Goaltender of the Year in the OHL and CHL and in '03 was named the goaltender for the AHL Rookie team. He was as good as Ryan Miller coming up. Give him time, he'll be a great Goalie.

I am pretty confident he will sign with Ottawa for a few more years and continue to develop his skills. Now that his wrist is repaired, he will onl be better. The Sens need to get rid of Gerber and make Ray a decent offer. Too bad, they can't just switch pay cheques.

Emery's a good goalie, he just needs to work on his rebound control a bit more
