If the fan base feels that the Pred's are'nt spending wisely to keep their best players in Nashville, then they won't bother showing anymore. Their two best players may leave. Or they can trade them both and at least get something(but not enough since other teams know the Preds are over a barrel). Sh*tty for the Preds. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. And they can't afford both.

Watching the All star skills right now Ryan looks like his uncle big time.

Great teams can win a Cup with average goalies. Elite goalies dont win a Cup with average teams.
NYR is a perfect example and will be true again this year. not trying to start a fight and theyre better than last year but without lundqvist in net, they'd barely be in the 8th seed.

only the blues scored less than them in the top 10 of the NHL yet theyve given up less goals than any team.

what it means? theyre average and ride lundqvist too hard. eventually it'll hurt ala every year when it counts.

Not superised, also wont be superised if either player doesnt live up to expectations when/if he bolts. They both have the benenfits of playing in the top defensive systems and one of the best match up coaches.

Fact is you need great goaltending to win in this league, even if it's just the goalie getting hot at the right time. Ask the Flyers if average goaltending is a formula for success.
I think you're agreeing with me. Niemi sucked and got a Cup. Leighton sucked more and almost got a Cup. MAF played on a great Pens team as did Osgood. Brodeur? He's great but his team was also.

Obviously great goalies win Cups but its not a requirement to win a Cup whereas it is a requirement to have a great team. Instead of listing goalies list some average teams that won a Cup with a great goalie. I'm sure it happens once or twice every ten/jfifteen years.

I'll give you the 93 team but that team blocked tons of shots in that playoff season.

Sure elite goalies make an average team that much better but neither KIP or Hasek in Buffalo won a Cup. Halek was on pace to steal a Cup 2 years ago but hit a wall. Like I said it can happen but rarely does happen.
