Don't know for sure but that was my though also. On IR so he doesn't have to be waived to go down.

This may be the Pens way of enforcing.... keeping one of the top enforcers on the payroll but not playing him unless he would absolutely be needed. Unfortunately for Mac and us fight fans there really isn't a team out there right now that the Pens can't handle without him. I think this move is just prolonging the inevitable of him being waived.

It's puzzling because he skated this morning and the Pens have not given an explanation of what happened. I honestly think was for the Letang and Michalek injuries. They needed to free up a spot, so place the guy on the IR.

I wish he would play more though...

With the two call ups for tonights game they have one man too many,the math dont lie. Glad they didnt put him on waivers, for someone they wont use they aint treating him bad for now.

Im sure Big Mac cant be feeling all that confident that he's going to stick all year. Writings on the wall. Wouldnt shock me to see him waived sometime soon. I would bet the under on 15 games played this year.
