Stars Sign Trevor Daley to Two-Year Contract
FRISCO, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has signed defenseman Trevor Daley to a two-year contract through the 2007-2008 season.
“Trevor has shown us that he has a promising future in the National Hockey League and we are glad to have him with our hockey club over the next two seasons,” said Armstrong. “We will look for him to continue to improve his game and make an impact within our organization in 2006-07.” Daley, 22, appeared in 81 games with the Stars last season, registering three goals and 11 assists for 14 points with 87 penalty minutes. The 5-11, 207-pound defenseman missed one game in 2006-07, Jan. 25 vs. St. Louis, with the flu. Over parts of two seasons with Dallas, he has appeared in 108 games and posted 20 points (4-16-20). He also represented Team Canada at the 2006 World Championships in Latvia. Dallas’ second round selection (43rd overall) in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Daley played four seasons with Sault Ste. Marie of the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) from 1999-03. In 216 games with Sault Ste. Marie, he collected 59 goals and 129 assists for 188 points. |
