FRISCO, Tex. – Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has recalled right wing Krys Barch from the Iowa Stars, Dallas’ development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Barch, 26, has played in three games with Dallas after being recalled originally on Jan. 14, making his NHL debut on Jan. 15 vs. Los Angeles. He has also appeared in 31 games with Iowa this season, posting eight points (3-5-8) with a team-leading 110 penalty minutes. Signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 18, 2006, he has appeared in 224 career AHL games over parts of seven seasons, tallying 25 goals and 41 assists for 66 points with 444 penalty minutes. The Stars (29-18-1) will resume their regular season play with the Pittsburgh Penguins tomorrow night at American Airlines Center (7:30 p.m. – FSN). |

The funny thing is fighting was never his forte in the juniors, I don't think it was anyway. He was drafted by the Caps and he was just a regular grinder (kind of like a Chad Wiseman type). And then suddenly he's literally fighting to make a name for himself in the minors. Weird.
