FRISCO, Tex. –
Dallas Stars General Manager Doug Armstrong announced today that the club has recalled right wing Chris Conner from the
Iowa Stars, Dallas’ primary development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Conner, 23, has appeared in eight games with the Stars this season, posting two points (1-1-2) with two penalty minutes. He scored his first NHL goal on Dec. 27 at Colorado after making his NHL debut on Dec. 8 vs. Edmonton.
The 5-8, 175-pound right wing has played in 39 games with Iowa this season, collecting 15 goals and 13 assists for 28 points. He also appeared in one preseason game with Dallas, going scoreless on Sept. 19 at Colorado.
Signed by Dallas as a free agent on July 13, 2006, Conner appeared in 15 games with Iowa last season following his collegiate career at Michigan Tech (2002-2006). During his senior year at Michigan Tech, he tallied 29 points (17-12-29), good for the team-lead in goals and points. The Westland, Michigan, native ended his career with Michigan Tech as the school’s all-time leader in shorthanded goals (15) and ranks 19th among goal-scorers (69).
