The
Dallas Stars announced today that the club has assigned forward Matt Fraser to the
Texas Stars, Dallas' development affiliate in the American Hockey League (AHL).
Fraser, 22, has appeared in two games this season with Dallas, and recorded one point with a plus-2 rating. He recorded his first NHL goal against the
Nashville Predators on Feb. 25. The 6-foot-1 forward from Red Deer, Alberta, played his first career NHL contest last season on Jan. 24, 2012 against the
Anaheim Ducks. Fraser went undrafted and was signed as a free agent on Nov. 17, 2010.
Fraser currently ranks fifth in the AHL with 24 total goals, and leads the league with 13 power play goals. Earlier this season, Fraser was selected to represent the Western Conference at the 2013 AHL All-Star Game after posting a team-leading 35 points (24G-11A) for Texas in 51 games so far this season.
