Don't think he should play ever again.
i think the hit was clean. borderline...but clean. and i personally think that simon got off easy regardless of whether or not the hit was dirty because you just can't react like that. but i actually believe that he was concussed on that play. not that it matters in terms of his suspension, but i definitely wouldn't say the hit was "nothing". if you watch him when he gets up, he kind of stumbles for a second. then when the ref is escorting him to the locker room, he stumbles again. if you want to think that he's acting that's your opinion. but i would give the oscar to hollweg for this one .

I have never been 2 handed across the face..but have been hit with a heel of a stick and can tell ya it really hurts. I don't think anyone can say Hollweg was putting on an act.

i'm definitely not saying it didn't hurt, but he was lying motionless on the ice like he was knocked out cold. if that were actually the case, he would have felt a lot worse and not have been able to come back so quickly. unless, of course, he is superman . hey listen, i'm one of the few hollweg supporters on this site. i love the way the guy plays and i really don't care if he loses all his fights because he's willing to get into them and that's enough for me. and i think simon deserved every bit of the suspension he got (if not more). but i find it hard to believe that hollweg wasn't elaborating somewhat on that injury.

He didn't lay there motionless. He kept lifting his head checking his mouth. I have never once seen a guy get hit in the face and pop uplike nothing has happened ...never. And to get 2 handed he was on the ice for maybe 25 secs. Every stick in the face is probably embellished somewhat out of fear factor alone..I just don't think Hollweg's was any different than 99 % of reactions according to severity of the swing.

Packfan,,,Simon was not looking right at him and then turned away, what are you watching. Look at the clip. It was an illegal hit from behind, Simon never saw it coming.
Hollweg should have been penaltized, Simon got what he deserved.

Hollweg def embellished on the ground. So obvious. When's the last time a supposed tough guy laid on the ground like he just got freight trained by Scott Stevens over a tiny cut that warranted a pair of stitches.

The action and intent was brutal but the actual effect was no worse than a hard high stick. Granted it could have been 100 times worse, it wasn't.

I would say probably the last time A supposed tough guy was two handed across the face? Stitches don't equal pain.
