Sim Waived

Quote:
3:20 pm - Point Blank has learned that the Islanders have placed grinding forward Jon Sim on waivers.

The 31-year old Sim is now available to the rest of the league for the next 48 hours. In 28 games with the Islanders this season, he has 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points.

Today is a great day in Islander Country

Hopefully this means Fritz stays on the Island longer.

Getting absolutely rocked by Cote and coughing up the puck to him to lead to a goal probably didn't help. That hit was awesome b/c they showed it close up as it happend. You didn't even see the goal b/c the camera stayed on the hit.

The guy just isnt good, nothing more to it. Hes been a waste for an "agitator" and a roster spot.

It's a good move by the team since Sim has been pretty much useless this year, but according to the report, he might not be getting sent down even if he clears waivers.

No one will pick up this goof, so he will probably stay with the team. Thats the Islanders karma.

Hopefully they waive Richard Park next. It's really sad to see guys like C.Gratton, Z.Konopka and others play in the minors and guys like Sim and Park playing regularly in the NHL.

Park actually brings something to the team as a good penalty killer who occasionally chips in with some offense. Sim is totally useless. He's supposed to be a pest, but he doesn't annoy anyone except his own team's fans by not doing sh*t when he's on the ice.

Funny thing is Park and Sim both lit it up in there lone seasons for the Phantoms. And you wonder why the flyers didn't keep either. (Well, they did sign Sim but he turned out to be a bust and they waived him)

According to Logan's blog, Sim cleared and will be scratched tonight. Fritz will remain in and Nate Thompson will be back in.

They better not move Park, he's awesome on the PK and he's probably the hardest worker on the team.

I agree regarding Sim. But you're way off on Park. Highly valuable penalty killer and 4th line center.

Holy sh*t, our fourth line is Fritz-Thompson-Jackman, thats our toughest fourth line in like 4 years.
