Sidney Crosby Out concussion-like symptoms

Sidney Crosby told reporters in Pittsburgh on Monday that he has had some concussion-like symptoms recently, which is why he did not play in the previous two games and likely will not play Tuesday against Detroit. He said there is no timeframe for his return.

"I'm not feeling bad," Crosby, who did not practice Monday, said according to tweets from Penguins website writer Sam Kasan. "Just have to be careful and make sure I'm 100 percent before I return."

Crosby did not feeling 100 percent after taking a couple of hits in last Monday's 3-1 loss to Boston. He passed the initial baseline concussion test, but said it's not enough for him to feel comfortable going back on the ice.

"You have to listen to your body," he said. "Passing ImPACT (baseline test) was encouraging, but it's not everything."

Crosby said he has been doing some light exercises.

"It's the same recovery routine again, but hopefully not as long," he said.

Crosby missed the first 20 games of the season while overcoming concussion symptoms that forced him to miss the final 41 games as well as the playoffs last season. He returned on Nov. 21 and had 4 points against the Islanders, and has 12 points in eight games this season.

This is all designed to give the NHL another dose of Crosby in every sentence.

Sad, but not unexpected after a while he should get better. Mario's career almost ended early but he found a way to fight through it, I am sure Mario is talking to Sid about the same thing.

I really hope ROOT sports decides not to throw a giant banner, a Sid cam, and the million other things they did when he comes back. He already is under enough pressure frm himself.

This sucks. I hate him with a passion but he's the best player in the world and the NHL needs him. He makes caps pens games more fun because he's someone to hate. I'm at the point that I think he needs to just take the rest of the season off and get better.

I actually thought,and still do think that he should have come back after the new year.Give himself a whole year to recover,and go from there.I know he was symptom free,and was doing well,but as evidenced.This thing isn't going away...Which is unfortunate whether you like him or not.....

He talked to the media about it. This "concussion-like" thing bothers me though, are they going to add it to man games missed due to concussion? Because a sore neck is a concussion symptom, yet not a concussion. He also passed all his baseline tests, not saying hes not hurt, just not concussed.

According to Josh Rimer he has a knee injury as well. So it just sounds like it's all bad at this point. If his knee injury is actually true then it would depend upon that before I even gave a guess.
