That was my first thoughts too, but really if noboody claims him, just send him back. So maybe there wasn't something prearranged.

So, what's the advantage of him being claimed? Don't the Oilers still have to pay half his salary? I guess it's just a salary dump, eh?

people must be hurting really bad for d-men, i like souray but from what all the reports say about his playing, i can't picture a team picking him up and of course good old glen will. But then again anytime could just bury his hit in the minors

Yeah but they don't have to pay any of his salary next year. Part of me wouldn't mind seeing him back on the Habs but I'm not so sure it would work out. Unless he was used strictly on a third pairing role and on PP's.

Let me guess..Spacek and Hamrlik are better?

I'd take Souray in a minute. He certainly brings more to a team than those 2 stiffs.
