Sharks' Torrey Mitchell Out Eight Weeks
San Jose Sharks center Torrey Mitchell sustained a complete non-displaced Tibia/Fibula fracture (two lower leg bones) in a practice session this morning according to Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson. The injury is commonly known as a Tib-Fib or Boot Top fracture.
Team Orthopedic Surgeon Dr. Arthur Ting will perform a surgical procedure this evening to repair the injury. The time frame for Mitchell’s return to the ice is approximately eight weeks |

Ouch. Real bad news for the Sharks and Mitchell. Hopefully he recovers quickly. It'll depend on how bad those fractures were, but 8 weeks sure seems like a quick estimated recovery time for such a severe injury.

Is this some bad karma being played out here - wasn't Mitchell the guy who nearly ended Kurtis Foster's career last spring? Tough break!

Still a bit bitter about the Foster situation, but it does suck to see a guy have to go through this. Best of luck in the recovery.
