clowe can hang with the heavys. and even if we get a big name heavy. i still think hell have 7+ fight season agian. and step up for marleu and cheech... when needed.

but i have no problem if clowe and rob davison our our 2 main enforers...
clowe is 6'2 220... idc what you say hes big
If he was on my team, I wouldn't want him fighting other enforcers regardless if we don't even have an enforcer. Clowe is too good of a player to be sitting in the box for 5 minutes from game after game.

there are a lot of parallels between Norton and Grenier. It would be nice if both could dress as 4th line wingers instead of hulking (lackluster) NHL defensemen.

some guys don't make the switch very well, but if these guys could do it, for their respective clubs the league would be much more entertaining.

glad to see Norton back. he was definitely on the wrong team for his style of play last season. hopefully the sharks give him a longer look.

I like the pick up - but I dont see Norts getting any time with San Jose, at forward or on the blue line. They are too deep already, which is why Parker had almost no chance for the past couple of years.
It's not so much a deep defensive corps as a large collection of #5-7 defensemen. They trade Josh Gorges because he was just another of this rank d-man. Norton might get 5-10 games over the run of the season, the way Murray did.

Mainly, though, coach Wilson has no commitment to the presense of an enforcer, even when playing a team like Anaheim. Sure, Parker's only fights all season came against Parros, but Wilson never really toughed up the lineup against Anaheim, LA, or St. Louis. Wilson counts on guys like Ryane Clowe or Mark Bell to step up. I don't ever see San Jose dressing a pure enforcer as long as Wilson is coach.

Well, they don't have Bell anymore...and they have not accomplished sh$t in the playoffs...so maybe Wilson should re-evaluate his pacifist approrach!

Actually, I'm damn glad they got rid of Bell. He was worthless as a scorer, and miscast as an enforcer. To think they gave up a decent d-man like Tom Preissing for Bell. Sheesh.

I agree that the Sharks need to re-evalute something. Mainly, it's heart. That's what they showed in Round One, beating Nashville. They defended themselves and their teammates against Nashville and their cheap antics. Loved it when Grier went after Hartnell. They showed no heart against Detroit. The Wings aren't going to rough anybody up, so it wasn't a matter of SJ being too pacifistic. They got lazy when they took leads, allowing the Wings to come back 3 times. For that matter, they failed to keep leads in the 2nd Round series against Edmonton two seasons back. That's on the coach and the captain, to keep the guys attacking.

calm down buddy. don't give the sharks a bad name! clowe is a light heavy/middle who can hang in their with the likes of vandy, matt walker,
M. Greene, cowan, mccarty, etc. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he lays a beating on the glass fridge this year. Norton is an enforcer who put up 5 fights i think in like 7 games for the wings last year by the way then got hurt. and dicked out of his jobs. he actually has a legitimate chance of making the roster as a right wing. very likely to get half a season in as the 13 forward. just wait for wilson's dumb ass 2 let marleau or cheech get steamrolled by ivannas sp? or the boogieman before norton gets his shot. Frazer Mclaren is also having a great tryout playing with seto. he only 20 yrs but is a future scott thorton type of player

I doubt Glenn Olson will play this year after the offseason plane crash he was in, unless he's improved dramatically in the last couple of months.
