Sharks Recall Tim Kennedy; Place Andrew Desjardins on IR

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has recalled center Tim Kennedy from the Worcester Sharks, the team's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.

Kennedy, 26, is T-21st in the AHL with 37 points (13-24=37) in 37 games played with Worcester this season where he leads the team in goals, assists, points and plus/minus (+8). He was named the AHL Player of the Week on Dec. 3 posting five goals in three games (5-0=5) from Nov. 26 - Dec. 2. In his last two games with Worcester, he posted five assists (0-5=5) and has seven points in his last four games (1-6=7).

In parts of four NHL seasons with Buffalo and Florida, Kennedy has posted 29 points (11-18=29) in 112 career regular season games. He also posted three points (1-2=3) in six games of the 2010 Playoffs with Buffalo.

The five-foot-ten, 175-pound native of Buffalo, NY was originally selected in the sixth round (181st overall) by Washington in the 2005 NHL Draft. He was acquired by San Jose from Florida in exchange for Sean Sullivan on Jan. 26, 2012.

In a separate transaction, center Andrew Desjardins was placed on Injured Reserve.
