Sharks Re-Sign Ryane Clowe

Quote:
Ryane Clowe and the San Jose Sharks have agreed to a four-year contract worth north of $3.5 million a season, a source told ESPN.com Thursday night.

The 26-year-old power winger from Newfoundland was a restricted free agent coming off a career-high 22 goals and 52 points in 71 games last season.

Clowe was drafted in the sixth round (175th overall) in 2001 by San Jose.

Hell of a player.

Looking to hope he keeps progressing and taking the next steps as a power forward.

I really thought he was gonna be moved, or was gonna get an offer sheet from another team.

Damn glad the Sharks re-signed him. Its been boring going through 3 pages of signings and nothing from the sharks but Blake and Huskins.

This is the one signing I wanted Doug Wilson to get done above all. Really happy with this news!

Clowe is a great combination of skill and grit. You've just gotta love the way this guy plays, and the Sharks did the right thing getting him re-signed. He's definitely not the one to blame for their playoff disappointment.

wow i didnt expect him to get a four-year deal this season. but good for him and the sharks that they wont have to go thru this again for a few years. damn good player that most teams would like to have.

Clowe has potential to become a good leader for the Sharks. He had a good season last year how like all the other Sharks didn't do much in the playoffs. He reminds me of Ryan Malone.
