San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager
Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed forward
John McCarthy to a two-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In 2011-12, McCarthy appeared in 10 games for San Jose. He led the
Worcester Sharks (AHL) in goals and points (20-27=47) in 65 games played.
McCarthy, 25, has appeared in 51 career NHL games with San Jose over three seasons posting four points (2-2=4) and 18 penalty minutes.
The six-foot-one, 200-pound native of Andover, Mass. was selected in the seventh round (202nd overall) by San Jose in the 2006 NHL Draft.
