Sharks Re-Sign Frazer McLaren to One-Year Contract
SAN JOSE – San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that the club has re-signed forward Frazer McLaren to a one-year contract. In keeping with club policy, financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
In 2011-12, McLaren played seven games for San Jose, posting nine penalty minutes. In 20 games with Worcester, he logged one assist and 73 penalty minutes. He is currently the all-time leader in Worcester Sharks history with 490 penalty minutes and 47 fighting majors. In 39 career NHL games McLaren has posted six points (one goal, five assists), a plus-five rating, and 85 penalty minutes. The six-foot-five, 250-pound native of Winnipeg, MB was selected in the seventh round (203rd overall) by San Jose in the 2007 NHL Draft. |
Man, is Worcester gonna be tough. :bored:
Nice, hope he stays healthy and sees some games up in da sho', as it were. Man it would've been great if Winnipeg had snagged a hometown boy on board as Thorburn ain't much in the way of toughness with that big softie Glass gone to boot -
With Winchester gone he might finally make it to the big show to stay!
McLaren should be up in the NHL full time now. He isn't a bad player and can certainly play in a limited 4th line role.
i think he'll be up more often , with all the signings in the west.
With Winchester and Vandermeer as UFA's, and unlikely return, McLaren could get the full time gig next season.
I hope he gets a little meaner and looks for fights. That can help him stay on the club. No Winnik, Winchester, Vandermeer or mitchell. I think Mclarewn might see 10 more games than he did last year. maybe 15.
He had a great 4-fight series with Justin Johnson last year, the first of the four Johnson forced the issue with an unwilling McLaren and popped him a couple times before the fire lit under Frazer's ass. Probably the best of the bunch was the last one, he definately fights better when angry, would like to see him enforce more and play with that edge against everyone.

Justin Johnson was on a mean streak last year. He had a pretty good year.
The team of Worcester had a really nice year with toughness unlike the NHL Sharks who seemed to have gotten softer losing Shelley, Staubitz, nichol, Mclaren ect |
