The flames last year when had Mac playing and prust would fight so often I loved it. When sharks were kicking there ass calagary didnt take it at all. I give you that. Ivanans is ok. doesnt really get beat up on but doesnt fight all that well. hes lifke a number 12-14 fighter. but he will do fine. expect draws which is ok.

Sharks If McLaren plays at least 50 games will be tough. I hope Murray and clowe fight this year as well but they are getting to be better hockey players now.

Im stoked on Mayers

Jackman had a pretty bad year lastyear.

I like this signing for the sharks. It will make the Kings vs Sharks games more exciting. I could see Mayers going with Clune, Clifford or Simmonds...

Some Black on Black crime... Simmonds vs Mayers

Sadly not vs our caps. Somehow the irritating bastid seems to score half his career goals vs washington. He's even scored a hat trick

As for Mayers, a fine, gritty vet of a type that's pretty rare since fighting has declined. I've rarely been impressed with him as a scrapper. Better than a true punchiing bag but not really very good. Ironically, it only makes him more valuable in a strange way because he will take his lumps and put the team first. That earns respect. Not that different than Matt Bradley although he is a better fighter.

I just always liked his courage and grit but only placed him in a category slightly above bradley etc. It says something though that he dosen't hesitate to challenge superior fighters (like the caps John Erskine) to either defend or spark his team.

Always really liked Regher (sp?) Maybe i'm wrong but he has impressed me in the few fights i've seen. Pretty sure i saw him beat George Parros sometime in the last two years.

If you don't like him...............send him to my washington caps. I'd appreciate it

I guess i'm bored enough to build my post count. Tim Jackman not a good fighter by today's standards? What are you smoking? A top 10 middlewight contender. He might not beat the Asham's or Rypien's but he's more than competent and he knows his role.

I don't know, maybe having Matt Bradley as my middle skews my perceptions but i'd take Tim Jackman in a heartbeat

bradley and jackman arnt that great. but theres still this year to improve on the fight game. both are good guys to have on a team. but it makes me laugh to see you writing about fighting on the caps haha. after this year you should be able too.

I'm not saying Tim Jackman is great by any means. Maybe i'm overly impressed by a decent year two seasons ago or selected pretty good fights with other middles like David Clarkson.

Salso possible i just like ANY willing middle and i always thought Jackman embraced the role with what seemed to be more than average gusto. Around 20 fights 2 years ago

Salso (inventing a word here) possible that mayers is better than i think or has recently improved at scrapping. I just have only rarely been impressed. I will say that he's not reluctant at all either.

I think Jackman is pretty solid when he plays his role. Hes a solid Winger that knows how to rough it up, and he knows how to fight but has very little Offensive skill.
