Sarich is below average.

I would rather fight Sarich than Iginla. Sarich's fight card is something to be desired. He's been beat on quite a few times.

Sarich has fought the likes of Andre Roy, Peter Worrell, Krzystof Oliwa, Andrew Peters, Zack Stortini, Todd Fedorukx2(although the 2nd means nothing), Raitis Ivanans and Cam Janssen while he's faced some MW's and other tough guys like LaCouture, Buchberger x2, Souray, Winchester, McIver, Montador, Murray, Malone, Cowan, Tucker etc.

Iggy's card can't touch that and he hasn't won a bigger % of them than Sarich. Bottom line is, If Iggy's there Sarich should be too. I'm not saying he's the champ of the world here.

If Jamal is going to back up McLaren this is a decent move, I guess. If San Jose thinks Mayers is going to be their enforcer then their fans are in for a long season.

Mayers adds a nice bit of toughness

I'll be shocked if Frazer McLaren isn't up for the year. They already lost Staubitz and lost Shelley last season.

Just because he fought those guys really doesn't mean anything. He got beaten by most of the guys you listed. Just because he dropped his gloves with a few heavyweights, doesn't mean he should be included in a tough group.

Not really imo.
Compare to division rival Oilers:

MacIntyre, Stortini, Strudwick, Souray, Peckham, Jacques, Vandermeer, Fraser, Smid...

Um.... no, they aren't soft - I absolutely agree with you there... but they aren't exactly loaded with capable fighters...

If Reghr or Iginla is the #2 guy on your depth chart, you are in trouble...

Maybe there is hope in Edmonton? Finally, a guy in charge who doesn't believe Lennart Petrell is a legitimate roster player.

He's just as good a fighter as Iginla, And he's fought tougher competition.

I agree. Ivanans, Jackman, Stone before those guys.

Stone is not a better fighter than Iginla or Reghr.

Ivanans is definitely #1.

Who is your #2? Jackman? Weak.

Yea, for the Flames, after Ivanans it pretty much takes a steep dive.

Oh we're ranking them? I don't even like Calgary, I was just trying to point out that they're not that soft of a team. Ivanans, Stone, Jackman, Iginla, Regehr and Sarich deserve a mention though, as they all contribute to the Flames toughness imo. Glencross was a bit of a stretch. Iggy is one of the more overrated scrappers on the site.
