Sharks Acquire James Sheppard From Minnesota

The San Jose Sharks acquired James Sheppard from the Minnesota Wild on Saturday in exchange for a third round draft pick in 2013.

Sheppard, who is currently a restricted free agent, missed all of last season due to knee injury suffered in the offseason.

Where were the Sharks last year to take Antti Miettinen off our hands?

He missed all of last season due to a knee injury suffered in the offseason.

Crashed his ATV.

Good move for both teams. Sheppard became a lost cause in Minnesota and San Jose needs some bottom 6 forwards. If Sheppard proves to be healthy he could really have a break out season.

He was one of Risborough's bad ideas. Not drafting him, but bringing him up to the NHL when he was so young. He should have done another year of juniors, then a year or two in the AHL, and been in the NHL after that.

I never thought he was a bad player, but he definitely needs to be in a different organization and have a fresh start.

Anyone know if he's back to playing shape yet?

He's not.

In fact, not too long ago, he just had another knee surgery and will not be ready for camp.

I think he might go AHL bound, Sharks have plenty in the AHL that are pretty much NHL quality (McGinn, Ferrio, Wingles, Desjardins, Mashinter, and Mclaren)

I still dontu nderstand this trade, does he make 550-650k?
