The Ottawa Senators have relieved goaltending coach Eli Wilson of his duties.

''Performance of the goaltenders in the organization had everything to do with it,'' general manager Bryan Murray said. ''I think Eli was a hard worker and paid a lot attention to it, but for some reason, both at the NHL level and American league level, we felt that the goaltenders weren't where we thought they were going to be and where they have shown they can be.''

I mentioned this in the team thread; I think this was a long time coming.

Rumour on the AM radio is that Curtis Joseph might be taking his spot. I think that'd be sweet.

He almost came here in '07, but Sens management weren't unable to unload Gerber's contract. He was a bit of journeyman, so I don't see it being a problem, in principle.
