Senators Recall Matt Carkner
OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled Matt Carkner from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. The defenceman joined the B-Sens Dec. 1 on a conditioning assignment.

Carkner played three games with the B-Sens, recording one assist, six shots on goal and 11 penalty minutes. The 31-year-old is in his third full season with the Senators, but has yet to play in a regular-season contest this year following surgery on his right knee in September.

About god damn time. Sens were soft without him. Maybe now Neil can run around a little more knowing someone has his back.

Kuba is injured, that gives Carkner a better chance of getting in.

The young guys are doing alright considering, but considering the Sen's goals against they'd better give Carkner a spin and see if he can keep people away from the front of the net.

Great he gets called up and the play The Devils tonight. Of course Janssen is out with an injury or it could have been a brawl fest (years ago). I guess it's Boulton, Clarkson and I think Fraser is in. I would have loved to have seen that Boulton-Sestito-Janssen line tonight. Boulton has a history with Neil and Carkner. He beat the snot out of Neil and barely beat Carkner in their fight. I hope we at least see Boulton test that hand tonight.

Damn with Sauer and Staal out, the Rangers could really use a guy like Carkner. Solid defensively and obviously a top-tier heavy.
