Senators Recall Ben Bishop, Assign Robin Lehner To AHL

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators today recalled goaltender Ben Bishop from the club’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. Goaltender Robin Lehner has been reassigned to the B-Sens.

Bishop, 25, was acquired by the Senators from the St. Louis Blues on Feb. 26 and has appeared in three games for the B-Sens, registering a 2-1-0 record and a 2.35 goals-against-average. Prior to the trade, he had spent the entire 2011-12 season with the Peoria Rivermen, the Blues’ American Hockey League affiliate, where he posted a record of 24-14-0 in 38 games, including a league-leading six shutouts. Bishop’s 26 wins are the second most in the AHL this season, while his .930 save-percentage is a league best.

Lehner has a record of 3-2-0 through five games with the Senators. He was recalled to Ottawa for the second time this season on Feb. 24 and earned his first career NHL shutout last Tuesday in making 32 saves in a 1-0 Senators’ road win over the Boston Bruins.

I'm a Leafs fan and even I have to admit Ottawa did very well by picking up Bishop

I thought Lehner did quite well in last 5 games.

Then I looked and saw Bishop has a .944 save percentage in his last three games.

Anderson as the savy vet and Lehner and Bishop as the future....Ottawa has it nailed down in goal for a while.
