Senators re-sign forward Erik Condra to a two-year contract

OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today the club has re-signed forward Erik Condra to a two-year contract.

Condra split the 2010-11 season with both the Senators and the team’s American Hockey League affiliate, the Binghamton Senators. In his second season with the B-Sens, Condra recorded 46 points (17 goals, 29 assists) while registering 28 penalty minutes and a team-best +20 rating in 55 games AHL games.

A native of Trenton, Mich., Condra was recalled by the Senators for the first time in his career on Feb. 15 and made his NHL debut later that evening in Ottawa’s 4-3 shootout loss to the New York Islanders. In 26 regular season games with the Senators, the 24-year-old Condra registered 11 points (six goals, five assists) and 12 penalty minutes. He was also one of three team rookies (Bobby Butler, Colin Greening) to record multiple-goal games this year, accomplishing the feat twice.

Upon reassignment to Binghamton at the end of Ottawa’s regular season, Condra helped Binghamton to the Calder Cup title, recording five goals and 12 assists for 17 points in 23 post-season contests.

Condra was Ottawa’s seventh-round selection, 211th overall, in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft.
