I am F**king pissed. We have to be the dumbest team in all organized sports. First round pick makes sense...late 2nd round is just plain stupid. Isnt Jackman wearing a cage for his broken orbital? This team is hideous. I am scheduled to go Saturday but dont even want to. We are a sham.

Yeah, pretty bad when your most physical defenseman is Freddy Meyer.

He's still there. They should call him up though. They really have no toughness without him.

Sutton may not be worth a first or a second, but with all the scrap being dealt for second rounders (Moore to Montreal is a huge example) i can't believe that's all they got.

It's my understanding that the draft isn't deep or something along those lines, but for heaven's sakes still more potential in that second rounder then you will fine in the likes of Moore and Sutton.

The Islanders need TALENT, young or otherwise.

Sutton was a pending free agent, they needed to try and get an asset out of him. He was playing quite possibly the best hockey of his career, and while I definitely wasn't realistically expecting more than a second round pick, I'm pretty pissed all we got was what will be a very late second rounder as San Jose's pick. If freakin Dominic Moore can command a second rounder two years in a row, you'd hope you could get a bigger return on a guy like Sutton.

But with Snow calling the shots, I was worried he'd completely f*ck up this trade, just like with Guerin last year, and get back a fourth rounder or something in return.

Its just that it doesnt look like we have a single hard hitting defenseman anymore. Our D is ridiculously soft now. Im tired of waiting for this fu*king team and their future. We've been rebuilding since 84'.

How many teams would not move him into the Top 4 D-Man Rotation? At his size, and with the level he is playing at this year, he might not be worth a top 5 pick, but at least a late first round, not a late second round. And as the others on this thread have pointed out, look at the crap being moved for 2nd round picks...Sutton is way better than that.

i wasnt expecting a first, but my main problem like you mentioned is the fact that the 2nd rounder is gonna be pretty ****in late in the 2nd round
