Sean Avery Waived by Rangers (Clears)

http://www.nypost.com/p/sports/range...hsZ0gCMbAIrwlI

Quote:
STOCKHOLM, Sweden --Sean Avery’s often-tumultuous Broadway run has come to an end.

For a second and last time.

The Rangers have placed Avery on waivers following a training camp in which he was given no chance by coach John Tortorella to retain or earn a job with the club.

The 31-year-old winger, who skated with minor league linemates throughout, got limited ice time in three exhibition games.

If another team claims him now, would that team have to pay his whole salary or just whatever the Rangers were paying him?

Unfortunately for him, he may have turtled his way right out of the NHL.

I want him to be in the league to add an entertainment factor, and I think all teams should have at least one agitator, but he's been a lockerroom cancer everywhere he has went aside from the Rags. I'm not sure what team, if any, wants to take that gamble. He's really burned a lot of bridges.

Maybe Phoenix or Florida or something.

If Torts couldn't straighten him out...no one will. Gonna miss him but at the same time good riddance. I want to see him on Montreal though haha

His agent said that if he clears, they would explore all options including Europe(Where he belongs and will fit in).

I don't think anyone is going to claim Avery and it's not for his on ice play, but it's the off ice sh!t that will make him jobless.

As Lappy said last year, he was the worse teammate he has ever had.

I still think if Avery can cut out the off ice BS and leave it all in the game, he could be a real effective 4th liner. He skates, hits, makes plays, and is a good energy player.... But we all know he can't change.

Dallas is still paying for half his salary since NY got him from them on re-entry waivers.
If another team claims him, that new team will then split his salary with Dallas.
If he goes on re-entry again and then someone claims him, Dallas will pay half his salary, NY a quarter of his salary, and the new team a quarter of his salary.

No surprise they waived that piece of garbage. Nothing but a liability for his team.

Good. He's not even entertaining. He is trash, that is about it. I've been waiting years for someone to actually pummel him, and it just never happens.
